Online Accredited High School

Latest news releases spotlighting the accomplishments of the students and staff of Oaks Christian Online. While pursuing their online high school courses, our students take advantage of the flexibility to dedicate a significant amount of time to their outside endeavors.  This has resulted in outstanding achievements in athletics, charity, the arts, and many areas of community and faith-based involvement that dovetail into their coursework, including AP classes online. We hope you enjoy reading about the impressive accomplishments they have acheived while attending our high school online.

Oaks Christian Online High School (OCO) senior, Cherokee Watkins, is on the trip of a lifetime with her grandparents all while successfully completing her senior year of high school.

Cherokee’s grandfather is an electronic engineer with the Department of Defense working for the Navy, and the family will be travelling through April of next year to such countries as Russia, Romania, Germany, Poland, Italy, Israel, Spain, Switzerland, and England. Highlights of her trip so far have included visiting the Red Square and Saint Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow as well as seeing the Sleeping Beauty and Nutcracker ballets in the historic Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg.

Oaks Christian Online High School (OCO) sophomore Kyra Shimogori will dance three roles, Lady Licorice (a soloist performance), Friends of Clara and Snow, in the December 20th and 21st performance of the Nutcracker at the Civic Arts Plaza in Thousand Oaks, CA.

This is Kyra’s second Nutcracker season, and she will dance four performances over the December weekend. The opulent show, in its 20th annual appearance at the Arts Plaza’s Fred Kavli Theater, will feature Tiler Peck and Gonzalo Garcia from the New York City Ballet, Kalinin Russian Dance Troupe and more than 200 performers. Kyra dances for Pacific Festival Ballet (PFB) out of Agoura Hills, CA. PFB is the resident ballet company of The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. Kyra enjoys not only the high caliber of the dancers at this large venue but also that many local schools organize field trips to the events for students who would not otherwise be exposed to dance. She hopes to inspire these students with an interest in the arts.

Colton Rhodes, Oaks Christian Online High School(OCO) senior will play in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League showcase tournament in Philadelphia, PA, on October 11-13th. Colton says, “I always try to play to the best of my ability and get some exposure, but the whole team has the attitude of going in for the win.

Last year our team scored enough points to come in 3rd at the end of the season. This year we’re hoping to make it to the championship.” Colton has played Defense in the Midget Major U18 Tier 1 Elite Hockey League (T1EHL) on the Los Angeles Junior Kings AAA team for the past 4 years. T1EHL is the nation’s premier amateur hockey league and provides exposure for their players to Major Junior, NCAA Hockey and the NHL, amongst other professional leagues.
