    Mrs. Abourched has a bachelor’s degree from the University South Alabama in Special Programs and a master’s degree from Loyola University of New Orleans in Secondary Education. She has been teaching high school English for over fifteen years. Mrs. Abourched’s teaching philosophy is that every student is different and therefore learns differently. It is her belief that everyone can be successful. She has three children with the oldest attending North Carolina State University and the youngest two still at home. She feels very lucky to be able to work with students in the online school since it is a different setting with a whole new world of opportunities.

    Amy Evans is a firm believer that Science is a subject that is learned when it is practiced. Prior to teaching online, Amy Evans taught at-risk students at Audubon Middle School in Los Angeles for ten years where she began their first school-wide Science Lab. Amy also pursued other areas of education when she became a Science Literacy Coach to two middle school Science Departments of teachers to spread her philosophy and encourage teachers to become more self directed. For the last six years, Amy Evans has taught multiple high school Science courses online and has developed new skills in this area each year.

He was a director of technology for Education Management Corporation and led program and curriculum development for several degree programs. A passionate learner with infectious enthusiasm for helping students succeed, he balances work life with running, antique cars and numerous family activities. Having taught in public schools and in higher education, his teaching philosophy is based on the belief that every student is able to learn and excel with proper instruction, support and motivation.

    Ms. Valencia is deeply passionate about sharing the power of the written word with our students. As a Christian, she believes God uses the written word to help us gain a deeper understanding of ourselves, our connection to Him, and the word around us. Literature and language has the ability to lead us to a greater truth. She has been in education for 8 years, at both the high school and the college level, and has also worked as a 12th grade English teacher. Ms. Valencia is an Oaks alumni from the original founding class. She considers it an honor to guide our students through the process of learning language and literature.

    Prior to coming to Oaks in 2015, Mr. Bellum taught as a university instructor, SAT Critical Reading instructor, Latin tutor, and private high school teacher. Mr. Bellum's educational philosophy has as its foundation the words of the Apostle Paul: "And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." It is his hope and prayer that his students learn to love the study of language and culture not only as a means to an academic end, but as a way to access and understand the staggering multiplicity of the human experience, to transcend their own cultural perspective, and ultimately to learn compassion for all people as a result of seeing the world through another's eyes.

Mrs. Papadopoulos has been teaching for 17 years now, (all grade levels from K - college) and is excited to begin her sixth year here at Oaks Christian Online!     Biography:
    I have been High School Spanish Teacher since 2003, before that I was a teacher assistant for many years. I have conducted online training sessions for teachers in Texas in Project Share. I have also function as a Spanish AP Lit Exam rater for 3 years and Team Leader rater for the Texas LOTE Pedagogy Teachers Exam. I am very well verse with modern technologies and I use them in the classroom. I have sponsor and organized a Chess Club and a Japanese Club in my old brick and mortar school. In 2012 I started teaching Spanish online at Connections Education. It has been a wonderful journey full of great opportunities and new challenges. Teaching Spanish in any environment invigorates me and provides me with an incredible joy. I love to see how the students gain new insights, become more interested in the Spanish language and culture, and learn about themselves. I like to foster the students' creativity, help with the development of their character, specially I love to give students another lens with which to view the world they live in and provide them with the skills they need to reach their full potential and lead productive lives knowing another language. Teaching Spanish to online students allows me to make a positive contribution to the future of these students. It is my prayer that with this knowledge the Lord Jesus & the Holy Spirit can develop and nurture in my students a better equip servant of the Almighty God and Creator. I put myself in God's hands and I will push my students with the Lord's guidance to help them explore this world using the Spanish language, in their lives, as tool to strengthen their faith, and to thing outside themselves in another language. Also I hope that God uses me to ignite in them a passion for learning in all subjects and to help them discover the gifts and skills God has given them.

It is his prayer that students who enter his classroom will draw closer to God in and through the process of learning, to grow in self-discovery, and become more equipped to serve the Kingdom of God.

Miss Kosa believes that education is our ability to demonstrate excellence and appreciation for the minds that God has given us and to make an impact on the world in which we live today. She seeks to model and to encourage students to have the spirit of excellence that Daniel had in Daniel 6:3. Since education is a necessity for students and Christians to be credible and influential in changing society, she encourages students to work hard and do their absolute best, participating in a friendly atmosphere and conversation guided by Philippians 4:8, conversation that is "true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and commendable." Her goal is for all students to recognize the Truth in the world and to be able to guide their lives by this Truth, recognizing the difference between truth and error, and being able to explain the foundation of their beliefs.
