The majority of Oaks Christian Online School (OCO) courses have been written by OCO Subject Matter Experts to be completely aligned with our main-campus curriculum. The online high school courses follow an in-depth checklist to match content, sequencing and rigor of our main-campus course offerings. In addition, these courses follow the University of California guidelines including completing a self-assessment against 52 online course standards from the International Association of K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL). OCO course also track against national, state, Common Core and Quality Matters guidelines.
Several online high school courses offered by OCO, especially Advanced Placement courses, are provided by Florida Virtual School (FLVS). FLVS has been a pioneer in award winning curriculum development and continues to be a world leader in online schooling for K-12 courses. Over 700,000 FLVS courses have been completed by students during the last ten years.
Finally, the curriculum development process for all OCO courses includes a review of opportunities for biblical integration, increased engagement with the teacher – through live, weekly sessions – and feedback about continuous course improvement. All OCO online high school courses are unique and meet the high standards of Oaks Christian School.
