Online Accredited High School

Latest news releases spotlighting the accomplishments of the students and staff of Oaks Christian Online. While pursuing their online high school courses, our students take advantage of the flexibility to dedicate a significant amount of time to their outside endeavors.  This has resulted in outstanding achievements in athletics, charity, the arts, and many areas of community and faith-based involvement that dovetail into their coursework, including AP classes online. We hope you enjoy reading about the impressive accomplishments they have acheived while attending our high school online.

Oaks Christian Online (OCO) high school student Megan McClain pursues her passion as a competitive equestrian while completing her college preparatory high school program at OCO. Last winter, Megan was one of approximately 1000 competitors at the Color Breed Congress Horse Show Competition in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She took home three Congress championships and ended up placing third overall for the whole show. This spring she will be competing in additional competitions for equally as prestigious championships.

According to Megan, "This event is one of the bigger shows of the year so it proved to me how truly talented my horse is and how blessed I truly am to do this. I also made a lot of new friends this year. So, in that God reminded me that I do this for Him, and that there is so much more to it than just winning titles. We get to share that special love for God's beautiful and powerful creation!"

Oaks Christian Online (OCO) student Sammy D'Ambrosio recently returned from a three-week intensive soccer training academy in England. The training academy is hosted by the English Premier League which includes world renowned soccer teams such as: Manchester United, Rotherham, Liverpool, Arsenal, to name a few. The goal of the training academy is to prepare aspiring soccer players for professional-level competition.

Sammy's soccer club in Southern California is in the process of launching a girls' academy for the Los Angeles Galaxy, as a first step towards the formation of a women's LA Galaxy pro-team. LA Galaxy is a Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise and one of the league's most-decorated clubs. It won the MLS Cup five times and received international attention by signing superstar David Beckham from Real Madrid in 2007. Sammy hopes her recent training in England by Premier League coaches will position her to be a first pick for the new LA Galaxy girl's academy. Sammy's current coach and assistant coach both played professional soccer in England for Bolton Wanderers and Manchester United, respectively. Her coaches have played a major role in helping her see her dreams come true.

Oaks Christian Online (OCO), one of the finest college preparatory online schools in the nation and the founding school of the Online Christian Consortium (OCC), is in its third year of providing specialized seminars for parents on practical strategies to help nurture life-long faith in teens.

Oaks Christian Online's Spiritual Director Samantha Farinacci leads these seminars two times per year, in March and in November. Ms. Farinacci's seminars are based on the Fuller Youth Institute's Sticky Faith research studies on the developmental phase of adolescence and spirituality. The Fuller Youth Institute is associated with The Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, one of the most influential Christian seminaries in the world.
