OCO Senior Assists in the Production of Autism Awareness Concert
Alex Lin, an Oaks Christian Online (OCO) senior, has been hard at work in preparing for the 2nd Annual Autism Rocks Concert that took place on April 28th at Universal City Walk, Hollywood. Alex wanted to find a way to give back to a community that he is largely a part of by pursuing his passions of helping others and participating in charity work. Alex himself has a diagnosis of mild Asperger's syndrome, so this topic is very close to his heart. He is ambitious and determined to make a difference in society with the goals he pursues. As an OCO student, he has the flexibility to pursue his interests while in high school. This concert is one way Alex has been able to invest in others while greatly benefiting the autism community.
End of School Year
Annual Online Service on May 25th
The summer session will begin on June 5th and run through 3pm on Friday, August 4th. In order to offer more flexibility in online course options for the summer, and allow students to remediate or accelerate their study plan, OCO will run all online courses except AP and Honors. In the past, we were unable to offer courses that were under-enrolled. This summer we are excited to implement a new pricing plan for all of our courses to enable students to take a course that may be under-enrolled. If more students should end up enrolling, we will then credit your account with the difference, and you will be able to apply the credit to future online courses.
Online Information Session
All students and families interested in attending OCO for either a single course, or full-time enrollment for the summer or fall, should attend an information session. Admissions Director, Brittany Lindsey, will cover topics such as: college counseling, spiritual life, admissions information, and a day in the life for an online student. Upcoming sessions will be on Tuesdays May 9th and 23rd at 9am and 6:30pm PST.
