Our summer session courses are well underway, almost half way through already! Students enrolled in summer online courses should be consistently logging in to their course in order to ensure a successful completion. It is important to plan ahead and make sure that even with travel plans, you are able to stay within the 2 week grace period. Grace periods will not be extended if you are unable to work while traveling. Students would be better served if they plan on working ahead of the pace of the class before traveling, so that when they return, they don't have so much to get caught back up on. Summer is all about planning! Our courses close at 5pm on August 4th. Finals will be taken through ProctorU. More information will be sent home to families as the end of the summer term gets closer.
2017-2018 School Year
Spiritual Life Wrap-Up and Summer Suggestions
It was such an honor to close out our year of listening with some really special guest speakers at Baccalaureate which took place the day after the end of the school year for OCO. Joe Paxton, our lower division Bible teacher and Andy Aragon, from the OCO class of 2016 were both able to explore the senior class verse (1 John 2:24) in meaningful ways. Overall it was a worshipful and fun evening!
This summer we'll be preparing for another Spirit-filled year! In the meantime, here are some inspiring goals from one of our students to keep in mind for the next couple of months. Enjoy!
1. I want to remember how to take a break from technology and reflect on Jesus.
2. I want to remember to think about Jesus when using media and how he would want me to make decisions.
3. I want to remember to use discernment in my life and invite God into all aspects of my life.
4. I want to remember to be charitable and look to help others like Jesus did.
5. I want to remember the tips and advice [from Spiritual Life] about sharing our faith with others.
OCO Admissions for 2017-2018 School Year: Online Information Sessions
OCO is still accepting students for the 2017-2018 school year but admissions is selective. All students and families interested in attending OCO for either a single course, or full-time enrollment for the summer or fall, should attend an information session. Enrollment Manager, Jennifer Rowley, will cover topics such as: college counseling, spiritual life, admissions information, and a day in the life for an online student. Upcoming sessions will be on Tuesdays June 27th, July 11th and 25th at 9am and 6:30pm PST.
